Measuring the waterproof capability of a fabric
This item of clothing has been tested under a shower of 60 litres of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours. The resistance of a fabric to a water pressure expressed in mm of a column of water (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The greater the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A fabric with a waterproof capability of 2000m is thus resistant to the pressure exerted by 2000mm of water, which roughly corresponds to a rainstorm of around 2 hours.
Measuring the breathability of a fabric
To test if a fabric is breathable, its evaporative resistance or RET is measured (test based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the resistance, the greater the capability of the fabric to allow water vapour generated by the body to escape, and the higher its breathability. For example: RET < 9 = fabric is extremely breathable.

    Lovely coat. Useless hood!

Whilst I was genuinely really impressed with the coat and it's many features, it's smart, warm comfortable and cheap! The hood lets it down! In bad weather working outside I'd put it up but it's so massive with no adjustment or fixings it either blows off or completely covers your whole face!
